Local-first by design

Sees files before GitHub does

Markdown created or changed by any tool shows up in the tree instantly — long before it's committed or pushed.

Read-only Git status

Modified, untracked, staged, and conflicted files are labelled inline. Verso never stages, commits, or pushes for you.

Explicit save, protected

Edits stay in memory until you save. If the file changed on disk since you opened it, the stale write is rejected — never a silent overwrite.

A real editor

Edit, Live, Split, and Preview modes — the same authoring surface as hosted verso, running fully offline on local files.

Remembers your folders

Recent workspaces are one click away. Removing one only forgets it — it never touches the files on disk.
